Sometimes it’s nice to see the people you work with outside of work (outside of the building anyways). So we whipped out the grill and laid out a table and some cover (it was overcast that day). We had a Mexican BBQ complete with grilled meats, veggies, beans and rice. Thank you goes out to all who cooked and setup the BBQ!

This where all the food was.

Another shot of our table.

Sunday Afternoons President Angeline Lacy
How young are you? Over the hill, but still active and like to be in the outdoors.
What do you like to do outside of work? Gardening, walking, hiking, spending time with family and friends.
What’s the best fall or winter product to order from sundayafternoons.com? The Cloudburst is our very best winter hat. This hat is 100% waterproof and has won awards for function and design. It was designed to keep the rain off your face and neck, and its full brim keeps the winter sun out, if you ski or spend time in sunny winter locations.
What’s the next big thing we can expect to see from Sunday Afternoons? A new line of woven style hats for men and women that will be available online this coming spring! a Winter line of technical hats is also in the works. You can expect great functional designs from our team next winter. We are excited about bringing our customers year round coverage.
Is it important to practice sun protection in the winter? Absolutely. The winter sun can be very intense. Up to 80% of UV rays can penetrate through clouds and in some cases can even magnify UV rays. The reflection from snow or other reflective surfaces adds additional risk of UV exposure. Also, people do not always think to use sunscreen in the winter, and this puts their skin at further risk. Bottom line, taking sun protective precautions during the winter is definitely important. Many of our customers also relocate to warmer locations during the winter months and continue to enjoy summer like conditions. Therefore, they need to continue to protect themselves like they do during the summer months.
What are you most excited about for the next year? We have a great group of people that make up Sunday Afternoons, and we are all excited about the future of the company.
Our new web site has become more interactive, and we are happy about the opportunity to hear directly from our customers, and interact with them through blogs, facebook, twitter , contests and sales that we offer.
The word on Sun Protection is spreading, and we expect to open more accounts nationwide, so our customers can find Sunday Afternoons products in more locations. We are also working with new lightweight fabrics, and new designs, that we plan to introduce next year.
And finally, with our customers support, we are in the fortunate position to make a difference in the lives of others. Sunday Afternoons, in conjunction with “Cambodia We Care”, is building a school for children in Cambodia, and helping the community, through education. We will also continue to help on the home turf, with donations to the outdoor wilderness school for High School students, and our new project: working with a local at risk pre-school, The Jackson County Relief Nursury a program that makes a difference in the lives of underprivileged children.
Can you leave us with any words of wisdom? Be in gratitude for what we do have, dream the dream you want for the future, and jump on the opportunities that are presented to you.
